Wednesday-Saturday, August 13-16
Final Concert
Sunday, August 17
Tucson, AZ
Pianist Armen Donelian
Bassist Scott Black
The Zonora Jazz Workshop is an energizing immersion in small group Jazz improvisation. Armen & Scott foster a lively dialogue, an informative exchange of ideas and a mutually supportive atmosphere for focused study.
ZJW offers a daily menu of lectures, one-on-one tutoring, hands-on group instruction and jam sessions.
Topics are geared toward answering individual questions. Composition, improvisation, ensemble performance, repertoire, aural-rhythmic-harmonic training, theory-arranging, practice regimen, the business of music, the artistic life and career development are some of the areas that may be included.
A faculty/participant concert at Tucson's Century Room on the final day caps the program.
We invite participants above the age of 18. Enrollment is limited to 10 to allow for greater personal attention. Our intention is to assist each participant to become the musician they aspire to be.
